NEW MUSIC: YOUNG THUG – ‘RAW’

Young Thug drops off a surprising new track called “Raw,” which finds him shifting sharply towards melodic indie pop. The gorgeous beat, produced by The Treasury, consists of looping synth melodies over clanging woodblock percussion and moaning vocal samples—it’s simple, beautiful, and couldn’t sound farther from a lot of the hard-hitting beats on recent Thug projects like Slime Season. Thug’s lyrics are as inscrutable as ever. “A wise man told me nothing,” he croons.

 There’s no word yet on where this stunning track will end up, but Thug has his Hy!£UN35 album and Slime Season 2 mixtape forthcoming.
